TCL Sues Samsung Over Mini LED TV Advertising Claims

TCL has taken legal action against Samsung over Mini LED advertising claims involving certain television models.
Technology company TCL has taken legal action against Samsung over what it calls misleading advertising related to the use of the “Mini LED” label on certain television models.
TCL claims Samsung’s marketing could lead consumers to associate its M Model televisions with the performance and technical benefits commonly linked to Mini LED technology.
The dispute adds to growing competition in the premium television market. Advanced display technologies have become an important selling point for global TV manufacturers.
TCL Challenges Samsung’s Mini LED Claims
According to Reuters, TCL filed the lawsuit in a Los Angeles federal court. The case concerns Samsung’s M Model televisions, which TCL alleges Samsung markets as Mini LED products without some of the features associated with the technology.
TCL describes itself as a pioneer in Mini LED technology. The company was also among the early manufacturers to bring the technology to consumers.

The company argues that Samsung’s use of the Mini LED name could create confusion in the market. TCL wants the court to address what it considers misleading claims.
Samsung Rejects the Allegations
Samsung has rejected the claims and said it will vigorously defend itself in court.
The South Korean technology giant maintains that its products meet its quality standards. It also stands behind the accuracy of the information it provides to consumers.
The court will now consider the arguments presented by both sides.
TCL Seeks Ban and Damages
As part of its lawsuit, TCL is seeking an order that would prevent Samsung from using the “Mini LED” name and related claims in what TCL describes as a misleading way.
The company is also seeking damages. However, the amount of compensation requested has not been specified.
Display Technology Drives TV Competition
The legal dispute comes as manufacturers compete to offer more advanced television displays. Mini LED has emerged as one of the technologies used to improve brightness, contrast and picture quality in premium TVs.
Meanwhile, access to high-end television technology continues to expand in markets such as Pakistan. Consumers can increasingly choose from a wider range of premium display products.
For now, TCL’s claims remain allegations. The legal proceedings are ongoing, and no final court ruling has been issued.
