Police have arrested three individuals — including two popular TikTok content creators — in connection with a high-profile armed robbery worth Rs130 million that took place in Karachi’s upscale PECHS Block 2 area.
According to SHO Inam Junejo of the Ferozabad Police Station, the suspects include Yasra Zaib, a TikToker with over 300,000 followers, her sister Nimra Zaib, and their brother Sheheryar. A fourth suspect named Shahroz is currently on the run, and search operations are underway to locate him.
The incident occurred when Salik, a resident of the area, was parking his car outside his home. He was ambushed by two armed men and three women in burqas, who held him at gunpoint and forced entry into the house.
Police reports indicate that one of the robbers was dressed in a fake FIA-style uniform, making it appear as if the house was being raided by law enforcement officials.
The robbers looted a massive amount of Rs130 million in cash, along with nine premium smartphones (including iPhones and Google Pixels), 20 luxury wristwatches, a smartwatch, 25 branded perfumes, two laptops, and other valuables.
Authorities were able to track down the suspects using CCTV footage and modern surveillance tools. Initial investigations revealed that Yasra Zaib is not only a known TikTok personality but also a model for several national and international brands, and her social media features photos with prominent public figures.
The case has sparked widespread attention and debate over the influence of social media fame and the blurred lines between online personas and real-life actions.
