US Strikes against Iran continued for a sixth consecutive night after the American military launched a new wave of attacks ordered by President Donald Trump, targeting key military sites and strategic infrastructure across the country.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American fighter jets, armed drones, and warships carried out precision strikes on dozens of Iranian military targets. The operation targeted coastal surveillance systems, air defence sites, military logistics infrastructure, and maritime capabilities.

On Thursday evening, US forces struck Qeshm Island and areas near Bandar Abbas, home to Iran’s largest commercial port and major naval and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facilities along the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian media also reported strikes on three bridges, a railway station in Bandar Khamir, and Iranshahr Airport in southeastern Iran. Reuters said it could not independently verify those reports.

In response, Iran launched missiles and drones toward US military bases in neighbouring countries, including a recently expanded air base in Jordan. Iranian officials claimed the base had been used during a US strike on a children’s cancer hospital in Iran on Wednesday night. The United States has not publicly responded to that allegation.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned that the United States could expand its campaign to include Iranian energy infrastructure and bridges if the conflict continues.

International humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions, prohibits deliberate attacks on civilian infrastructure considered essential for public welfare. Legal experts have previously warned that strikes on protected civilian facilities could violate the laws of armed conflict if they are not legitimate military targets.

The current conflict began on 28 February when the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran. Tehran responded with missile and drone attacks on Israel and Gulf states hosting US military bases, triggering a wider regional conflict.

The prolonged fighting has killed thousands of people, displaced millions across the region, disrupted global shipping routes, and pushed international oil prices higher, increasing pressure on global financial markets.
