The NDMA has issued an alert for extreme heat and heatwaves from March to September.

The NDMA says there is a risk of rising temperatures, melting glaciers, and flooding. According to the NDMA, there is a risk of damage to populations due to glacier eruptions in the northern areas. The risk of flooding has been expressed in the areas of Ahmedabad, Faizabad, Gulmat and the Ashkoman Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan. Similarly, there is a risk of flooding in the Kumrat, Reshwan, Yarkhon Valley and Breep areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The NDMA has alerted the PDMA, rescue agencies and district administration in view of the emergency situation. The relevant administration has been instructed to keep an emergency evacuation plan ready and keep the warning system active.
