The Purfleet Trust in King’s Lynn does a marvellous job, so much so that it was given the King’s Award for Voluntary Service in November 2024. In some 30 years the Trust has supported over 15000 people in a whole variety of ways, for example: the Purfleet Pantry provides food, clothing and furniture at affordable prices; the Health and Well-being Centre offers counselling, workshops, advice on housing and benefits, meals, showers, laundry facilities and an on-site gym; and Training Houses give people experiencing homelessness the chance to prepare for independent living.
The Rotary Club of King’s Lynn has supported the Purfleet Trust for many years and recently gave a further donation of £800. £500 was given towards the purchase of a new minibus and £300 towards the provision of a new garden where clients can relax and reflect in a calm environment.
