Rana Qasim Noon visited Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Thursday, where he laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, offered Fateha, and prayed for Pakistan’s peace, stability and prosperity.

The Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir also recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book before speaking to the media.

The minister said Pakistan and Kashmir share deep historical, geographical, religious and moral ties. He added that Quaid-e-Azam’s statement describing Kashmir as the “jugular vein of Pakistan” continues to guide the country’s national policy.

Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon expressed concern over the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He urged the international community to take notice of the reported violations and support the Kashmiri people’s internationally recognised right to self-determination.

The minister said Pakistan had responded to recent regional challenges with responsibility, strategic planning and diplomatic engagement. He added that the country’s approach had earned international recognition and strengthened Pakistan’s constructive role on the global stage.

Paying tribute to the people of Kashmir, he said Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmiri cause and remain committed to its long-standing position on the issue.

Commenting on the Indus Waters Treaty, the minister criticised what he described as India’s violations of the agreement. He called the alleged actions “water terrorism” and said using water as a political tool violates international law. He also praised Pakistan’s political and military leadership for presenting the country’s position before the international community.

The minister further condemned what he described as Indian-sponsored terrorism and said Pakistan’s leadership remained fully prepared to respond to national security challenges.

After the ceremony, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon visited the Quaid-e-Azam Museum near Mazar-e-Quaid. He viewed historical artefacts, personal belongings and galleries dedicated to Muhammad Ali Jinnah and expressed appreciation for the museum’s collection.

Members of the National Assembly Syed Abdul Qadir Gillani and Asad Alam Niazi, who also serve on the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, accompanied the minister during the visit.
