Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO), the largest oil marketing company of Pakistan, extended support of Rs 10.0 million to the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), to be used as part of scholarships to bright students currently enrolled in the university.
An agreement signing ceremony between the PSO CSR Trust and the LUMS was held in Lahore. Mr. Shahzad Safdar, Trustee, the PSO CSR Trust, and Ms. Tara Uzra Dawood, Member, the PSO Board of Management, jointly presented the cheque of support to Dr. Arshad Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor, LUMS. Officials from both sides and the beneficiary students were also present on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Tara Uzra Dawood, Member, PSO Board of Management said: “At PSO, we believe that access to education can positively change the lives of individuals and their families. As such, education has the potential to transform the future of our country.”
“I feel privileged to be present at the signing ceremony between the country’s two leading most organizations. This initiative under the national outreach program of PSO will go a long way in the lives of the beneficiary students and their families.”
Expressing his views Mr. Shahzad Safdar, Trustee, PSO CSR Trust said:

Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor of LUMS, said:
“LUMS derives its strength from diversity represented by students from hundreds of villages, towns, and cities across Pakistan. Constant support from PSO has been key in supporting the dreams and aspirations of the next generation of leaders.”
Under the LUMS’s scholarship program funded by PSO CSR Trust, the company has sponsored ten deserving students to help them pursue their higher education at Pakistan’s most prestigious university.
