KARACHI – The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) successfully concluded its HBL P@SHA CXO Meetup in Karachi, bringing together senior IT executives, policymakers, and government officials to deliberate on accelerating Pakistan’s IT exports and advancing digital transformation initiatives.

The high-level gathering focused on strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors to enhance Pakistan’s global competitiveness in the technology industry.
Ali Rashid, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh on Information Technology, attended as the chief guest. He said the provincial government, under Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, considers the IT sector a key pillar of economic growth and is committed to resolving industry challenges on a priority basis.
He further stated that the government aims to fully utilize the expertise of P@SHA and the local IT industry to support digitization and e-governance across provincial departments, emphasizing that Pakistan must adopt modern technologies such as artificial intelligence to compete globally.
From the federal side, Pakistan Software Export Board CEO Faisal Jeddy attended as keynote speaker, outlining new initiatives aimed at boosting IT exports. He announced that foreign companies are now eligible to open Roshan Digital Accounts, describing it as part of broader reforms to attract international investment and facilitate the IT sector.
He added that PSEB is working closely with P@SHA on a comprehensive strategy to expand exports, improve infrastructure, and develop IT parks to support software houses and startups.
Sajjad Mustafa Syed emphasized the need for rapid adoption of artificial intelligence and 5G infrastructure, warning that Pakistan cannot remain competitive in the global technology race without them. He stressed the importance of improving ease of doing business to attract foreign clients and investment.
Sindh IT Secretary highlighted the need for skill-based education aligned with global market demands, while P@SHA leadership underscored continued engagement with the government to resolve industry challenges and support export growth.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen Pakistan’s IT ecosystem, enhance exports, and position the country as a competitive player in the global digital economy.
