Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has chaired a meeting on petroleum products and decided to implement early closing hours for markets, shops, and shopping malls across Pakistan, including Sindh.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, all daily-use stores, department stores, and shopping malls will close by 8:00 PM. Bakeries, restaurants, tandoors, and food outlets will remain open until 10:00 PM, while marriage halls and market areas will also close after 10:00 PM.
The statement added that private properties and homes hosting wedding functions will also be subject to a 10:00 PM curfew. Medical stores and pharmacies are exempt from these restrictions.
The new directives will take effect from April 7, with enforcement across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, division headquarters markets and shopping malls will remain open until 9:00 PM.
Officials noted that in Sindh, consultations regarding market timings and operational hours are still ongoing.
