A meeting of the organizing committee was held at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and chaired by Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbaeva. The session was attended by committee members, senators, heads of ministries and agencies, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

The initiative follows a proposal by Uzbekistan’s head of state during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025 to transform the Asian Women’s Forum into a permanent platform. In line with this vision, the upcoming forum will be organized jointly with UN Women and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The forum will focus on advancing women’s roles across key sectors, including politics, the economy, healthcare, education, social protection, climate change, environmental sustainability, and governance. It aims to strengthen regional and global cooperation through the exchange of experiences and best practices.

The event will also highlight reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan to support women, including initiatives in employment, entrepreneurship, education, and social welfare, as well as achievements in community development and tourism.

Special attention will be given to the implementation of major international frameworks, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), UN Security Council Resolution 1325, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Participants at the meeting also reviewed organizational matters such as the forum agenda, program content, and arrangements for bilateral meetings with foreign delegations. Relevant ministries and agencies have been assigned responsibilities to ensure the successful hosting of the forum.
