United Business Group (UBG) Patron-in-Chief SM Muneer said that the business community will stand and face those who are campaigning against the Pakistan Army. Pak forces have given endless sacrifices for Pakistan, our soldiers are being martyred on the borders to keep us safe and those who are campaigning against Pakistan forces on social media for their gains are the enemies of the country and we condemn the campaign against those who are maligning the soldiers of Pakistan Army.
Muneer said this last night while addressing the dinner given in his honor by the former Vice President of FPCCI Noor Ahmad Khan. President UBG Zubair Tufail, former Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, former member of National Assembly Khushbakht Shujaat, Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, Zubair Chhaya, Salman Aslam, Gulzar Firoz, Faraz-ur-Rahman, Johar Ali Qandhari, Ehtshamuddin, Mumtaz Sheikh, Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Shujaat Ali Baig, Zahid Saeed, Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui, Farrukh Mazhar, Saleem-uz-Zaman, Altaf ST, Ikram Rajput, Muslim Mohammadi and others were present on the occasion.
According to the statement released by UBG’s central spokesperson Gulzar Feroze,
SM Muneer said that the current government should consult with the business community for the stability and development of the country’s economy, industry and trade, and national exports, because the private sector has always played a role in the strength of the economy. Despite the adverse conditions, the businessmen and industrialists of the country have actively participated in the national development, while the business community is actively participating in the flood-affected areas as well. Aid from foreign friendly countries to the flood victims should be distributed immediately, while the business community should send supplies to the flood victims through Pakistan Army.
He said that the government should play its role in the promotion of the industrial sector and exports and if the government has to take unpopular decisions for economic improvement, then they must be done. Industrial production is frozen, many industries have closed and more are on the verge of shutdown.
President UBG Zubair Tufail said that despite the low prices of petrol in the global market, the increase in prices in Pakistan is surprising, electricity rates are being increased continuously, there is a shortage of water despite the heaviest rains and the manufacturing sector is facing difficulties. The government should reduce energy rates for industries, and provide facilities to investors so that the national economy can be stable.
Zubair Tufail said that the United Business Group has started the election campaign for FPCCI and has nominated Atif Ikram Sheikh and Arif Jewa for the president and senior vice president and the names of the vice presidential candidates will be announced soon.
