Pakistan Navy Ship YARMOOK conducts counter-narcotics operations in the Arabian Sea.

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy Ship YARMOOK, deployed in the Arabian Sea, has conducted two counter-narcotics operations resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of illegal drugs valued at approximately US$96 million.

According to the Pakistan Navy, the operations were conducted at extended ranges from the Pakistani coast. Two dhows were intercepted during the operations.

The Navy recovered approximately 850 kilograms of ice and 2,000 kilograms of hashish/cannabis from concealed compartments inside the vessels.

The seized narcotics have been taken into custody and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for disposal and further legal proceedings.

The Pakistan Navy said the operations demonstrate its continued presence and vigilance in the Arabian Sea.

It added that the successful seizures reflect the Navy’s commitment to strengthening regional maritime security and combating illicit trafficking at sea.
