The impact of falling global petroleum prices has begun to translate into domestic relief in Pakistan, with the government announcing significant reductions in the prices of multiple fuel categories.

According to the latest revision, the price of light diesel has been reduced by Rs70.04 per litre, bringing it down from Rs399.72 to Rs299.32 per litre. Jet fuel has also seen a notable decrease of Rs23.59 per litre, with the new price set at Rs471.01 compared to the previous Rs494.71.
Earlier, the government had already cut the price of high-speed diesel by Rs32.12 per litre, lowering it to Rs353.43 from Rs385.54.
Officials say the reductions are linked to a sustained downward trend in international oil markets, influenced in part by easing geopolitical tensions and improved supply flows through key global routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.
The price cuts are expected to provide relief across multiple sectors, particularly transportation, agriculture, and aviation, while also helping ease inflationary pressures in the broader economy.
