Showbiz Desk: Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat said that her performance was never been appreciated.
According to Indian media reports, Mallika Sherawat, who started her film career with the film Murder in 2004, expressed her feelings 18 years later.
In an interview, the actress said that she has done what Deepika Padukone did in the film “Gehraaiyaan” 18 years ago, but her acting has never been appreciated and people always focus on her body and glamour.
She compared the “Gehraaiyaan” of her film “Murder”, Deepika Padukone also spoke openly about the changing trends in the film industry.
“People in the film industry have always focused on my body and glamour, no one has ever praised my acting,” Hissss star added.
Asked about the changes taking place in the film industry, the actress said that in the past, Earlier, the heroine was Sati-Savitri or a characterless vamp, in this context, her role in the film was written.
She said that but now it is not like that, now the woman in the film is just a human being, who is happy or sad, makes mistakes or stumbles but still, people love her.
Mallika Sherawat said that heroines are very confident about their bodies as well. When I filming Murder, there was a lot of noise. People said all kinds of things about the kiss and the bikini in the film.
Further, the actress said that I also did films like Dashavataram, Pyaar Ke Side Effect, and Welcome but none appreciated my acting whereas what Deepika Padukone did in Gehraaiyaan I did those 15 years ago. People were very narrow-minded when the Murder movie came out. I was mentally disturbed by the industry and the media.
A few scenes of Mallika Sherawat and Emraan Hashmi in the film Murder directed by Anurag Basu were widely discussed. Mallika Sherawat is now appearing in Rajat Kapoor’s film “RK/RKay” which is all set to release on July 22, 2022.
