Kashmir Solidarity Marked as FPCCI Rallies Business Leaders on Youm-e-Istehsal
Business leaders, civic representatives and Hurriyat officials gather across Pakistan, reaffirming support for the people of Kashmir and calling for continued international attention.

Pakistan’s business community has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the people of Kashmir during nationwide events held to mark Youm-e-Istehsal on August 5. The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) organized high-profile gatherings at its headquarters in Karachi, the President’s Secretariat in Islamabad, and other major cities to commemorate seven years since the events of August 5, 2019, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The meetings brought together leading industrialists, exporters, presidents of chambers of commerce, trade association representatives, civic leaders, and members of the Hurriyat leadership. Speakers described the gatherings as a demonstration of Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic, and economic support for the Kashmiri people.
After seven years since the constitutional changes in IIOJK, Kashmir Solidarity remained the central message of the events, with business leaders stressing that lasting peace and sustainable economic development in South Asia depend on a just settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh said Pakistan’s entire business community stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the people of Kashmir and believes that economic pressure and military measures cannot deny their right to self-determination.
Senior Vice President Saquib Fayyaz Magoon said Pakistan’s trade and industrial sectors have a moral and diplomatic responsibility to raise the issue of Kashmir at international business and economic forums. He urged global stakeholders to pay greater attention to the humanitarian and economic consequences of the situation.
Vice President Asif Sakhi said the prolonged military restrictions have affected both human rights and the local economy of IIOJK. He called on international commercial institutions and human rights organizations to respond more actively.
Vice President Tariq Jadoon said the participation of chambers of commerce from across Pakistan reflected national unity on the issue. He added that trade bodies from every province had joined together in support of the Kashmiri people.
Chairman of Town Municipal Corporation District South, Mansoor Sheikh, praised FPCCI for bringing together business leaders, civic representatives, and Hurriyat members on one platform. He said local governments also reject the actions taken on August 5, 2019, and support the rights of the people of Kashmir.
Senior representative of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, thanked FPCCI for consistently highlighting the Kashmir issue within Pakistan’s civil and economic dialogue.
Director General of the Press Information Department, Irum Tanveer, also attended the Karachi session and reiterated the Government of Pakistan’s continued moral, political, legal, and diplomatic support for the people of Kashmir and their pursuit of self-determination.
