Japan Supports Science Laboratory Project at School in Khairpur
Japan supports a science laboratory project at Dawn Public Secondary School in Khairpur, Sindh.
The Government of Japan has provided science laboratory equipment and furniture to Dawn Public Secondary School in Village Drib Mehar Shah, Khairpur District, Sindh.
Japan funded the project through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). The initiative aims to strengthen practical science education for students at the local school.
Under the project, the school received two LED monitors, 44 pieces of science laboratory equipment and laboratory furniture. The new facilities will allow students to conduct practical lessons at their own school.
New Facilities Support Science Education
The upgraded laboratory will support practical classes in chemistry, physics and biology. Students previously had to travel to another school to conduct science practicals.
The new facilities will improve access to science education, particularly for female students. Japan expects the project to encourage more girls to pursue further studies in science-related fields.
A handover ceremony took place at the school on Friday. Consul General of Japan in Karachi HATTORI Masaru attended the event along with school operator Sanaullah Ujan, teachers, students and other guests.

Japan Expands Grassroots Support in Pakistan
Japan has implemented more than 400 projects across Pakistan through its GGP programme.
The programme focuses on improving basic social services and supporting human security at the grassroots level. Education remains an important area of Japan’s assistance in local communities.
The Japanese government said the Khairpur project would contribute to the development of future generations. It also expressed hope that the initiative would further strengthen the longstanding friendship between Japan and Pakistan.
The newly equipped laboratory will give students a better opportunity to gain practical experience and develop an interest in science within their own community.
