TEHRAN/ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States of undermining diplomacy, stating that Iran was attacked twice during ongoing negotiations—evidence, he said, that Washington is not serious about peaceful engagement.

Speaking in remarks reported by Al Jazeera Arabic, Pezeshkian linked rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz to what he described as “hostile actions” by the US and its allies. He also criticised European positions during a conversation with Antonio Costa, calling them biased.
In a sharp escalation, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned that leading American corporations—including Microsoft, Apple, Google, and Boeing—could become targets if further Iranian leaders are killed in alleged “targeted assassinations.”
The Guards claimed these firms play a role in surveillance and intelligence operations through advanced technologies, declaring their infrastructure “legitimate targets” in the event of continued attacks. Employees were advised to leave workplaces to ensure safety.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump signaled that diplomatic efforts remain underway, even as he warned of intensified military action if negotiations fail. He also urged affected countries to turn to US energy supplies amid disruptions caused by instability in the Strait of Hormuz.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth described the coming days as critical, citing increased military pressure on Iran and signs of weakening morale within its forces.
European leaders, including Costa, have called for de-escalation and adherence to international law as fears grow over a broader regional conflict.
The ongoing war, which erupted after US and Israeli strikes on Iran in late February, has expanded across the Middle East, disrupting energy markets and heightening global security concerns.
