Indonesian Medica showcases Indonesia’s healthcare industry at Health Asia 2026 in Karachi
KARACHI, September 10, 2026: Indonesia is expanding its economic engagement with Pakistan’s healthcare sector through ‘Indonesian Medica’, a dedicated showcase at Health Asia Expo & Conference 2026, being held from September 10 to 12 at the Karachi Expo Centre.
Indonesia is the Country Partner to the expo. The initiative aims to connect Indonesian healthcare companies with Pakistani importers, distributors, hospitals and other industry stakeholders.
Health Minister Visits Indonesian Medica
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal, inaugurated Health Asia 2026 and later visited Indonesian Medica.
During the visit, he joined Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Mudzakir in a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The visit added momentum to Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen healthcare and economic engagement with Pakistan. The minister expressed appreciation for bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
The Consul General, meanwhile, conveyed his gratitude to the minister for visiting the pavilion.
Indonesian Healthcare Companies Participate
The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi initiated and facilitated Indonesian Medica.
The showcase brings together the Indonesian Medical Device Ecosystem Development Association (HIPELKI) and Indonesian companies. Participating firms include PT Sugih Instrumento Abadi, PT Ocean Medica and PT Eagle Indo Pharma, known for its Cap Lang products.
The showcase features medical devices, healthcare and hospital-related products, as well as consumer health and wellness products.
Focus Shifts From Exhibitions to Business Partnerships
The initiative is designed to go beyond product displays. The Consulate General is facilitating engagement between Indonesian participants and Pakistani importers, distributors, medical-device manufacturers, hospitals, healthcare associations and other industry stakeholders.
“We want Indonesian companies not simply to exhibit products, but to understand the Pakistani market, meet the right partners and build sustainable business relationships,” Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Mudzakir said.
Pakistan’s continuing demand for imported medical devices, alongside efforts to promote local manufacturing and import substitution, offers opportunities for Indonesian companies.
These opportunities include distribution partnerships, technology cooperation, production machinery and joint manufacturing.

HIPELKI and HDAP Build Industry Links
Ahead of Health Asia, the Consulate General facilitated direct engagement between HIPELKI and the Healthcare Devices Association of Pakistan (HDAP).
HDAP represents around 300 importers and manufacturers. Meanwhile, HIPELKI brings together approximately 250 companies and stakeholders across Indonesia’s medical-device ecosystem.
“Our objective is practical: turn meetings into connections, connections into business leads, and business leads into trade and industrial partnerships,” Mudzakir said.
Targeted Meetings to Continue
During Health Asia, the Consulate General will continue facilitating targeted meetings with potential Pakistani partners and industry networks.
Post-exhibition engagement will also follow to support potential business relationships.
Through Indonesian Medica, Indonesia aims to establish a more structured presence in Pakistan’s healthcare market.
The initiative also seeks to create a platform for longer-term cooperation between the healthcare industries of Indonesia and Pakistan.
