KARACHI, September 10, 2026: Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi inaugurated a one-day Awareness and Diagnostic Eye Camp at Governor House on Thursday.
The camp provides eye screening, diagnosis and treatment facilities. It also aims to raise awareness about preventive measures and proper eye care.
Governor Stresses Early Eye Care
Speaking at the camp, Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said Governor House employees were benefiting from timely eye examinations and necessary treatment.
He emphasized that early diagnosis and timely treatment of eye diseases can help prevent vision loss among many people.
“The true value of eyesight is best understood by those who have lost their vision,” the governor said. He added that every effort to prevent eye diseases and protect eyesight should be encouraged and supported.
Governor Comments on Protest Camp
Responding to a media question about the protest camp outside Governor House, Hashmi said protest activities should not become a source of inconvenience for the public.
He observed that no government wants people to face difficulties or additional hardship.
Petroleum Prices Linked to Global Market
On petroleum product prices, the governor said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wants to minimize difficulties for the people as much as possible.
Pakistan imports oil from the international market to meet its petroleum requirements, he noted. Therefore, global market conditions and other relevant factors are considered when determining petroleum product prices.
Governor Speaks on Iran-US Tensions
Responding to a question about tensions between Iran and the United States, Hashmi said the prime minister and Field Marshal are making efforts to help bring an end to the conflict.
He stressed that ending regional tensions and establishing peace is in the interest of the entire world.
