Jamshoro: Chairman Higher Education Commission Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, visited SABS University of Art, Design and Heritages, where he inaugurated a newly established Central Digital Library and praised students’ creative and academic excellence.

The Chairman was warmly received by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arabella Bhutto along with faculty members and administrative staff. During the visit, he toured student exhibitions showcasing art-based projects, including innovative work inspired by the Indus Valley Civilization.
Students from the Communication Design department presented AI-based video games, websites, and animation projects, which drew strong interest from the HEC Chairman. He engaged with students, asking about the academic and commercial potential of their work.
Prof. Dr. Akhtar praised the quality of creativity, noting that such advanced work is typically associated with major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, but was impressed to see it emerging from Jamshoro. He described the projects as a reflection of strong faculty guidance and student dedication.
He also announced that HEC would explore forming a consortium between leading art institutions, including the National College of Arts, Punjab University College of Art and Design, and Beaconhouse National University, in collaboration with SABS University to promote academic exchange and joint initiatives.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arabella Bhutto thanked the HEC Chairman for his visit and support for institutional development.
The delegation included senior officials and vice chancellors from various universities and institutions. Guests were also presented with traditional Sindhi Ajrak as a gesture of hospitality.
