First trailer for long-awaited Top Gun: Maverick has been released
The first trailer for the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun has been released 34 years after the blockbuster hit came out, with Tom Cruise reprising the role of Maverick.
Tom Cruise showed the trailer to raving fans at a surprise appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego. The trailer showcased some of the action scenes from the new film, as well as re-introducing the audience to Maverick, Tom Cruise’ breakthrough role in 1986.
The Hollywood superstar can be seen flying a fighter jet in multiple shots, as well as riding a bike wearing his signature aviators and bomber jackets.
At Comic-Con, Cruise told the audience that he had always been asked when he would do another of the Top Gun movies. “I felt it was my responsibility to really deliver for you,” the charismatic actor said.
Top Gun: Maverick will release in summer of 2020
