KARACHI – Cresent Art Gallery Chief Executive Nasir Javed called on Sindh chief secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah in Sindh Secretariat and discussed with him matters related to art and culture. Talking on the occasion, Mumtaz Ali Shah said that the promotion of arts and culture is amongst their priorities.
He said the culture of Sindh is of historical importance and all-out resources would be utilized for its promotion. Shah said that local artists are very talented and they are conveying a positive message to people through their paintings. He said that an art auction house of the international level should be established in Sindh province for the development of art. Crescent Art Gallery chief executive Nasir Javed on the occasion said that his gallery is taking many steps for the development of art and patronage of artists. He said in whole Sindh including Karachi as well as in other cities of Pakistan a program has already been chalked out to hold art exhibitions. He said that they would hold art exhibitions in London and New York also.
He said that paintings of our great artists are our precious asset. He said in Pakistan there is a need to set up an international art auction house. He asked that the federal and provincial governments should play their due role in this regard. Mumtaz Ali Shah praised the role and services of Crescent Art Gallery and assured of his full cooperation. He also praised wall paintings in Lyari and other localities of megacity Karachi.
