KARACHI: An Anti-Corruption Court in Karachi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 18 individuals, including 17 officials from the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), a sub-registrar, and a builder, for allegedly enabling the illegal construction of a seven-storey building in the Kharadar area by taking bribes.
The court, presided by Judge Ameenullah Siddiqui, was told that construction was permitted for only three floors, but SBCA officials allowed seven. The case, originally filed at Kharadar Police Station on the orders of the Sindh High Court, was transferred to the Anti-Corruption Department for investigation. After reviewing the challan naming 19 accused, the court ordered their immediate arrest and production.
