MUZAFFARGARH – A disturbing incident has come to light in Muzaffargarh, where a woman has accused a police official of raping her inside the room of an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) at the Saddar police station.
According to the victim, she was summoned to the station in connection with a medical examination related to her abduction case. While there, an official allegedly took her to the ASI’s room and assaulted her. Authorities have since arrested the accused officer and launched an official investigation into the incident.
This case echoes a similarly shocking episode earlier this year in Hafizabad, where a woman was reportedly gang-raped at gunpoint in front of her husband by a group of armed men. Although the attack took place about a month before it gained attention, it was only after a video of the assault surfaced online that the case saw action.
According to police sources, a First Information Report (FIR) was eventually registered after the video went viral. The victim’s husband, who filed the complaint, named four individuals and claimed a total of eight people were involved. He also alleged that local police initially refused to register the case and delayed action, and further stated that a relative of one of the accused, working in the District Police Officer’s office, tried to intimidate them.
It was only after the public outcry that the DPO intervened and ordered immediate action.
