NEW YORK : American dentist Dr. Mark Berhini says that the trick is to brush your teeth before drinking coffee in the morning because it reduces the chances of staining your teeth. He explained that coffee has a pH level of about five, which softens the top surface of your teeth (enamel). According to him, “If you brush your teeth immediately after drinking coffee, you are not actually cleaning your teeth, but rather damaging them.” According to the doctor, “Brushing your teeth immediately after coffee is like rubbing your teeth.” He said, “It takes about 30 to 40 minutes for the enamel to harden again, so brushing during this time can further weaken the surface of the teeth.”
