A dramatic and widely circulated video shows Lal Masjid’s head cleric, Maulana Abdul Aziz, forcibly removing Mufti Abdul Qavi from the Jamia Hafsa seminary in Islamabad, creating a storm of controversy online.
In the viral footage, Mufti Qavi is seen sitting with local scholars inside the seminary office when Maulana Abdul Aziz enters, visibly armed. Without any formal exchange, he demands that Mufti Qavi leave immediately, threatening to shoot him if he doesn’t comply.
Startled by the threat, Mufti Qavi quickly stands up and exits the room. Throughout the video, Maulana Abdul Aziz uses harsh language and makes serious accusations, branding Mufti Qavi as a tyrant, drunkard, and adulterer. He goes as far as urging the Muslim Ummah to boycott him completely and claims he deserves severe punishment.
The incident has sparked intense debate on social media. While some criticize Maulana Aziz’s actions as unlawful and dangerous, others have expressed support for his aggressive stance.
As of now, Mufti Abdul Qavi has not issued a public response, and no official action has been taken by the authorities.
