KARACHI: An American woman who traveled to Karachi for love has left an apartment in the Garden area and moved to a guest house.
According to police, the woman, identified as 33-year-old Onijah Andrew Robinson, had been waiting outside the residence overnight and expressed a need to rest. She had arrived in Karachi on October 11 to meet 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she had met online. Leaving her two children behind in the United States, Robinson had hoped to start a new life with him.
However, due to family pressure, Nidal reportedly backed out of the relationship, leaving Robinson stranded at Jinnah International Airport for a week. With her tourist visa no longer valid, she was unable to leave the country. Upon attempting to locate Nidal at his home in the Garden district, she found the residence locked and abandoned, as his family had already vacated the premises.
According to police sources, Nidal was taken into custody by intelligence agencies four days ago. Left with no alternative, Robinson staged a protest outside his house, refusing to leave until she was eventually relocated to a guest house.
