US-Iran Conflict: US Launches Fresh Strikes as Iran Targets Oil Tankers and Regional Military Assets

The United States launched another round of military strikes against Iran, targeting command centres, missile and drone launch sites, air defence systems, and maritime capabilities. US Central Command (Centcom) said the operation aimed to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The attacks marked the 10th consecutive night of US strikes. President Donald Trump said the United States struck Iran “very hard” in response to the recent deaths of three American service members. Two soldiers died in Jordan, while another lost his life in Iraq.
Iran responded with strikes on two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian state media also reported attacks on US military assets in Bahrain and Kuwait. President Masoud Pezeshkian described the confrontation as a “full-scale war” between Iran and the United States.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it destroyed infrastructure belonging to the US company Amazon in Bahrain using cruise missiles. The claim has not been independently verified.

Despite the fighting, both sides continue to exchange diplomatic messages through regional intermediaries. Iranian officials confirmed that communication channels remain open even after the collapse of the previous ceasefire.
Centcom said US forces struck military command centres, maritime facilities, missile launch positions, drone sites, and air defence systems. It also confirmed that commercial vessels continue to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran said rescue teams evacuated the crews of two damaged oil tankers after the attacks. Separately, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that an unidentified projectile struck a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, forcing its crew to abandon the vessel. Authorities have not confirmed whether both reports refer to the same ship.
The US Department of Defense identified two soldiers killed in the Iranian strike on Jordan as Private Isabella Gonzales, 19, from Texas, and Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, from Hawaii. US officials continue to search for a third service member after finding unidentified remains near the attack site.
Jordan’s military intercepted three Iranian missiles as warning sirens sounded across the country. Kuwait also reported intercepting Iranian drones, while Bahrain said Iranian drones targeted its air navigation systems without disrupting air traffic.
Iranian media reported explosions in several cities, including Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Mahshahr, and Bandar Imam Khomeini, following the latest US strikes.
Iran also said two oil tankers exploded while crossing the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC blamed what it called an unsafe southern shipping route, but Centcom rejected that claim.
