UN warns Cybercrime on rise during COVID-19 pandemic

WEB DESK – UN Disarmament Chief Izumi Nakamitsu warns that cybercrime is on rise during COVID-19 pandemic.

Talking in an informal meeting of the UN Security Council, she said that malicious emails during the current crisis has increased to 600 percent.

She said growing digital dependency has increased the vulnerability to cyberattacks, and it is estimated that one such attack takes place every 39 seconds.
