KARACHI, September 6, 2026: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi visited the Chinese Consulate in Karachi and met Chinese Consul General Feng Deheng on Sunday.

Senior officials from the Chinese Consulate also welcomed the governor during the visit. The meeting focused on Pakistan-China relations, regional security, peace and opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation.

Governor Hashmi described Pakistan-China friendship as a lasting example of mutual support. He said the two countries have stood together during difficult times.

According to the governor, close cooperation between Pakistan and China has become even more important amid the current regional situation.

Governor Calls for Dialogue and Diplomacy

Discussing regional and global peace, Hashmi said war and confrontation cannot resolve disputes.

He stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path towards lasting peace. Moreover, he said Pakistan would continue playing a constructive role in promoting stability and reducing tensions in the region.

The governor also highlighted Pakistan’s interest in benefiting from China’s technological expertise and experience.

He said stronger cooperation could help Pakistan advance in areas where China has developed significant capabilities.

Makkah Agreement Also Discussed

During the meeting, Hashmi also referred to the Makkah Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

He said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to peace, stability and collective security.

The governor linked such diplomatic initiatives with the broader need for regional cooperation. Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to emphasise dialogue and peaceful engagement in addressing regional challenges.

China Pledges Stronger Pakistan Partnership

Chinese Consul General Feng Deheng praised Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.

He said China remains committed to strengthening its long-standing and all-weather friendship with Pakistan.

Feng also expressed China’s willingness to expand cooperation in technology, trade and development. In addition, he stressed the importance of continued coordination between the two countries.

According to the consul general, stronger bilateral cooperation can contribute to regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Focus on Trade, Technology and Development

The discussions also highlighted opportunities for broader economic and technological cooperation.

Pakistan has continued to seek greater access to Chinese expertise and technology. At the same time, both sides have emphasised stronger coordination on issues affecting regional stability.

The meeting in Karachi therefore underlined the importance of maintaining close Pakistan-China ties.

Both sides expressed support for continued cooperation across areas of mutual interest, with peace, development and regional prosperity remaining key priorities.
