Augmenting its relief efforts for the flood victims of Pakistan, leading global food brand, Shan Foods, joined hands with Hum Network Limited to extend its support for the affectees in the form of relief goods under the Network’s flood relief campaign “HUMDard”.

The catastrophic flooding in the south-west region of Pakistan has brought historical destruction, killing thousands of people while millions of people have been displaced from their homes without any food or shelter. Responding to the crisis, Hum Network had organized a live telethon, bringing together organizations and people from different walks of life and raising funds and necessary goods for the victims. Adding to its contributions, Shan Foods pledged to donate essential food items to play its part in countering food insecurity that has unfolded in the flood-hit areas.

Maria Rashdi, Head of Corporate Communications and PR Shan Foods, expressing her solidarity with flood victims while speaking during the telethon, said, “The horrific floods have left behind unprecedented destructions in the region. On top of loss of lives and homes, the victims are faced with an alarming hunger crisis. Shan Foods stands strong with all those affected by this calamity and we are diligently working to extend our efforts as much as we can to provide relief to the victims from their suffering.”

Naufil Aftab, VP Sales Hum Network Limited said, “The state of national emergency we are currently in calls for collective efforts of all our countrymen. Through our flood relief campaign, we hope to bring all our friends to come together and make contributions, monetary or in the form of relief goods, to help our brothers in this time of need. We are grateful to Shan Foods for their generous contribution and look forward to the same support from other organizations as well so that together we can recover from these testing times.”

Earlier last month, Shan Foods had also sponsored medical assistance and sent out ration to flood-affected areas in partnership with Saylani Welfare Trust under Saylani’s Balochistan Rescue Program.
