KARACHI – The Chairman, Standing Committee on Higher Education, Science and Technology, of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Member of USPAK Trade Development Council Mr. Samir Mir Shaikh on Tuesday visited the University of Karachi and met Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi to discuss collaboration between academia and industries.
The VC Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Lyari, Professor Dr. Akhtar Baloch, was also present on this occasion. Samir Shaikh expressed that academia and industries should work together for the betterment of the country. He said that the bridging gap between academia and industries is the need of the hour.
The KU VC Khalid Iraqi shared that KU would organize an international conference ‘building trust through trade’ on August 01 and 02, 2019 which would be attended by the American delegation.
He said that this conference would help in bringing the local and international business community closer and would be beneficial for the export of the country. On this occasion, Samir Shaikh said KU has the full support of him and business community of the visit of US delegate to where local traders and business community would personally meet the foreign visitors and discuss the possibilities of expanding their trades.
