In the discussion of Raabta Forum International, the country’s 77 years of political, constitutional history, economic system, foreign policy, military capability and the role of Pakistan in the rapidly changing situation of the world were reviewed. Nusrat Mirza, Chairman of Contact Forum International, said that Pakistan had to become the axis of the rise and development of the Islamic world, although we achieved significant success in many fields, but we failed in the formation of a political system. The dream of the development of an independent state could not be fulfilled by our ancestors. However, in some areas we have achieved great success. No need to be disappointed.
Former head of Quaid-e-Azam Academy, Khawaja Razi Haider, said that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, did not want western democracy. He wanted to form a political government according to the principles of Islam. We played the Quaid’s decrees for 20 seconds on the media and did not make it a part of the curriculum in such a way that the young generation is not aware of the Quaid’s decrees. Ziauddin University’s Dean of Social Sciences Professor Dr. Tanveer Khalid said that after independence, the country was run in a colonial style, which did not bring political stability and continuity. There are examples of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. A political revolution took place there. Continuity of the political system is essential. Professor Dr. Uzma Shujaat said that the major powers are harming each other. Which is affecting Pakistan. The length of the Ukraine-Russia war could affect other regions as well. The Americans misjudged Russia’s possible response to the NATO issue.
Former ambassador Mustafa Kamal Qazi said that our Foreign policy has been revolving around America and China. America does not object to Pakistan’s strategic relations with China, similarly, China does not object to close relations with America. If the foreign policy is made by those who should be made, then the country will go far. Our problem is that the enemy in the neighborhood is conspiratorial, especially during the era of Narendra Modi, the policy of isolating Pakistan at the global level was worked on, but the Modi government failed. Modi is a devil. Along with his hostility towards Muslims, his hostility towards other religions is also evident. He is ruling India on the basis of Hindutva. Dr. Zahid Ali Zahidi said that the Muslim League had no agenda for land reform in the new state. While the Indian National Congress immediately after the independence of the Land Reforms, the political grip of the feudal lords, Vader’s, chieftains in this region became stronger. Democracy could not be implemented according to its spirit. Former ambassador Syed Hassan Habib said that the country has suffered a crisis due to the incompetence of the bureaucracy. Bureaucracy lacks vision and is only able to execute orders. Over the past seven decades, bureaucracy has misguided the rulers. While the former ambassador Zafarullah Sheikh said that African countries were not given importance in our foreign policy. Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir received military training from Kakul Academy. But we could not develop diplomatic and trade relations with African countries including Sudan. Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission Spokesperson Dr. Shahid Riaz said in an online address that Pakistan’s achievements in civil nuclear technology are exemplary. We have done great work in the fields of energy, agriculture, industry, health and education. By establishing a merit system, goals can be achieved in other areas as well.
Dr. Tahir Khaliq of Pakistan Nuclear Society said that the ability of our scientists and experts in civil nuclear technology is appreciated globally. Pakistan’s peaceful nuclear program is very active. Dr. Waqar Ahmad Butt of Pakistan Nuclear Society said that the country’s agricultural production has been increased through civil nuclear technology. This technology can be used to help deal with the recent flood situation. Experiments have been done on it in different districts of Punjab last year.
Korangi Trade and Industry President Syed Johar Ali Kandahari said that it is impossible to achieve the goal of development without promoting the industry. Expensive electricity, mafia of IPPs are major obstacles in increasing exports and trade, which must be eliminated. Chaudhry Wahiduddin, a member of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and an industrialist from Gujarat, said that if an investment-friendly environment is created, the industry will take off. Gujarat is the hallmark of Pakistan regarding the fan industry. 50 lakh fans can be manufactured in Gujarat annually. However, giving the order of 16 lakh ACDC fans to China may harm the domestic industry. Well-known analyst and anchorperson Sajjad Mir while talking on the video link said that if all the institutions of the country abide by the constitution and laws and stay within their limits, then there will be no corruption. Political stability is essential for economic development. Senior journalist Jaid Siddique said that if politicians make political decisions with integrity, positive results will come out. A culture of intolerance is leading us to destruction.
Senior journalist Abdul Wadud Qureshi said that we are divided socially, politically and socially. Coordination is necessary before political stability. University of Management Science and Technology Professor Dr. Abid Sherwani said that the education sector has to adapt to modern requirements. Graduates from our institution are second to none in caliber. The German company admitted this. Professor Dr. Akhtar Hussain Sindhu of Government Islamia College Lahore said that they cannot move forward without providing education in the mother tongue. Although the modern sciences are in English, still education has to be done in mother tongue and national language to enable the field of research. Dr. Mohammad Naeem of University of Karachi said that development cannot be done without the acquisition of modern sciences. Millions of students who have passed out from University of Karachi are honing their skills in different countries of the world.
Karachi Bar President Amir Nawaz Waraich said that lawyers had a central role in the movement of Pakistan. Unfortunately, the rule of law system could not be implemented. Sindh High Court Bar General Secretary Sarfraz Mitlu said that some good works have been done in different periods. Like the 1973 Consensus Constitution was made. However, using the lawyers’ movement for political purposes proved harmful for the country. Senior lawyer and former judge Nadeem Qureshi said that the constitution and law must be followed according to its spirit. Due to repeated interference in the political system, we could not determine a direction. In the discussion, Head of RFI Research Department Syed Samiullah said that if we become one nation, we will be able to achieve development goals. The communal and linguistic divisions have kept us away from the goals of development. In the discussion, Khalid Iqbal Advocate, Zafar Imam Advocate and Mian Rauf Atta Advocate said in their address that we cannot move forward without providing timely justice and rule of law. In a democratic system, the people decide. If the country is to be taken forward, let the people decide and accept it.
