Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Mahmood Maulvi has won in NA-245 by-election of Karachi constituency.
According to the unofficial inconclusive results of the NA-245 by-election, the PTI candidate won by a margin of 16,282 votes, the voting turnout in the constituency was 11.8 percent.
According to unofficial unofficial results, Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Mehmood Maulvi won with 29,475 votes, while MQM-Pakistan’s candidate Moeed Anwar stood second with 13,193 votes.
In NA-245 by-election, Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan candidate Muhammad Ahmed Raza secured 9836 votes, while independent candidate Farooq Sattar got 3479 votes and Muhammad Shahid of Muhajir Qaumi Movement got 1177 votes.
Mahmood Maulvi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Moeed Anwar of MQM, Syed Hafeezuddin of PSP, Mohammad Shahid of Mahajir Qaumi Movement and Mohammad Ahmad Raza of TLP were competing on this seat.
Farooq Sattar was in the fray as an independent candidate, with a total of 15 candidates contesting the seat while the PPP and JUI candidates withdrew in favor of the MQM.
On the other hand, PTI workers arrived in large numbers and started celebrating after the great success. Workers distributed sweets and congratulated each other on the victory.
It should be noted that the seat of National Assembly Constituency NA 245 was vacant due to the death of Amir Liaquat Hussain, Member of National Assembly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
Chief Election Commissioner
The Chief Election Commissioner said that disturbances and interference in the polling will not be tolerated, people should come to the polling stations without any fear or danger.
He had said that immediate action would be taken on violation of the law, so the police and law enforcement agencies should be alert and diligent.
The Chief Election Commissioner had said that the District Monitoring Officer and the monitoring teams should remain active while the public should not believe rumours.
He further said that provincial and central control rooms should be contacted for verified information and complaints.
