Prime Minister launched new entertainment satellite TV channel “AAN”

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has launched the new entertainment satellite TV channel “AAN” at a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Dr Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Public Policy and Strategic Communications Syed Fahd Husain, Federal Information Secretary Ms. Shahera Shahid, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Chairman Muhammad Salim Baig and Principal Information Officer Mubashar Hassan attended the ceremony among others.

M Network executives – Aqil Jamal Butt, Asim Mumtaz Butt, Umair Mumtaz Butt and Dr Ali Hassan – were present on the occasion.

The prime minister pressed the button to formally launch AAN TV of M Network amid applause from the audience to mark the start of the broadcast.

While addressing the event, the premier said that today a simple but impressive ceremony has been held to launch AAN TV with great splendour.

He said he heartily congratulates Chief Executive of AAN TV Dr Ahsan Tariq Butt on this venture. He said this was the first family entertainment channel of Pakistan and that he was certain that it would present splendid programs.

The prime minister expressed the hope that AAN TV will use all its energies to promote our Islamic and eastern traditions.

With these words, he said, he congratulates the AAN TV on its launch and “we all pray for its success”.

Before the prime minister’s speech the national anthem was played. Some promos of the programs of the AAN TV were also shown.
