Shekhar Mehta is the 4th Indian who was nominated as the President of Rotary International for the year 2021-22 in 115 years. He was born in Kolkata India in 1959. He has done Masters in Commerce, is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and a Company Secretary.
Shekhar Mehta is married to Rashi Mehta. She is a social worker and an artist. They have a son Chiraag and a daughter Geeta.
Shekhar Mehta is a motivational speaker. He has spoken in hundreds of events nationally and internationally. His motivational skills are excellent which has helped in raising millions of dollars for The Rotary Foundation. He is serving as the World Leader of 1.2 million Rotarians in 200 countries and geographical areas in the year 2021-2022.

Shekhar Mehta has provided many major services in India & South Asia. Some significant services are; constructing 500 homes for Tsunami survivors, started the Shelter Kit program in India and started Heart Surgery Program. He also started a scholarship program called UDAAN for marginalized children. 1000 scholarships have been given in last 10 years by his club.
He also facilitated for the program; T-E-A-C-H a literacy program in India having reached out to more than 50,000 Schools and 15 million children. Rotary is working on the T-E-A-C-H Program with the Central Government and many State Governments. He has helped setting up 6000 rural toilets which benefitted 30,000 people as responding to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
