Maintaining Workplace security is very important and a challenging issue as every body wants to work at a place which is secured for them and especially for the banking sector effective security is must because banks are the custodian of public deposits so its the bank responsibility to arrange and implement necessary security measures which makes banks and its branches safe and secure completely.
As we all know that terrorism is the global issue and entire world is affected with such issue and terrorists always finding different ways to harm general public and its assets and for this purpose they always adopt that options which are easy for them to meet their targets and fulfill their false agendas.
With changing modes of crimes, all banks have already setup their internal security department to monitor and control all security related issues by using modern equipment’s and also issuing precautionary guidelines from time to time to keep their staff informed.
Currently banks are securing its premises by using modern equipment’s and technology and with the help of security guards which are giving their duties to secure bank and it’s branches. Security Guards are performing their Job very well and in Past security guards effectively resist and made several robberies unsuccessful / fail and for this cause several security guards sacrifice their lives.
Now to make bank branches more safe and secure, there is a need to deploy “Female Guards” in branches who check females and take necessary steps to counter any suspicious activities or actions (If Found) as male guards can’t preform such actions.
Research and data shown that globally women also involve in bank robberies although the ratio of women involvement in bank robberies is low but we have to take necessary and timely precautionary measures to protect our premises from such unforeseen situations / circumstances.
In Pakistan till not a single bank rendering women security guard services, which is a big gap and this gap need to be filled on priority basis. Our brave women have representation in all sectors especially our women effectively playing their part in our armed forces like Army, Navy, Air Force, Police etc and fulfilling their responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
It’s true that our private security guards companies are male dominated and very few females are working in such field not because females are perceiving security guards job ordinary or lower cadre job, this is just because very few post of female security guards are vacant because normally male guards services are rendered by banks for security purpose.
By deploying female security guards in bank branches, help out to deescalate many security issues as only male guards unable to handle all security issues because in branches both males and females are visiting on daily basis for fulfilling their banking needs.
This initiative will also creates new employment opportunities, as there are very few registered securities agencies who recruited female guards due to shortage of requirement as if bank’s decided to render the services of female security guards in addition with male guards than security agencies will start recruiting females on large basis, as currently thousands of commercial banks branches exists and running their operations in Pakistan.
