Karachi, April 23, 2026 — The inaugural meeting of the Pakistan–Rwanda Business Council was held at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), marking a new step toward strengthening economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Rwanda.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman Atif Iqbal and attended by FPCCI Vice President Asif Sakhi along with other council members. Participants engaged in detailed discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors including pharmaceuticals, transportation, construction, agriculture, nursing, sports, and other key industries.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Atif Iqbal highlighted that the council would be expanded further to include a wider membership base, aimed at enhancing private-sector engagement and facilitating greater business-to-business connectivity between the two countries.
He noted that Rwanda presents emerging business opportunities that Pakistani investors can actively explore, particularly in infrastructure development, healthcare services, and agriculture-related industries. He emphasized that sustained efforts would be made to increase bilateral trade volumes and strengthen long-term economic cooperation.
FPCCI Vice President Asif Sakhi welcomed the establishment of the council, calling it a positive development for Pakistan’s trade diplomacy. He said that the platform would play a crucial role in opening new investment avenues and fostering joint ventures between business communities of both countries.
He further stated that FPCCI, as the country’s leading representative body of the business sector, remains committed to facilitating traders and industrialists and connecting them with international markets.
Participants expressed confidence that the Pakistan–Rwanda Business Council would serve as an effective platform for transforming trade relations and creating new opportunities for economic collaboration. They reiterated their commitment to leveraging the council to promote sustainable partnerships and expand Pakistan’s trade footprint in African markets.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to strengthen institutional linkages and explore practical pathways for increasing bilateral trade and investment flows between Pakistan and Rwanda.
