Pakistan Forces Say 11 Militants Killed in Balochistan Operations
Security forces conduct intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan, according to ISPR.
Pakistan’s security forces say they killed 11 militants during intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kharan and Washuk districts on September 6 and 7.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations targeted militants allegedly linked to an Indian proxy group. The military described them as foreign-sponsored terrorists.
Eight Militants Killed in Kharan
On September 6, security forces responded to an attempt to establish a roadblock in Kharan, according to ISPR.
The military said the militants intended to disrupt local traffic. Security personnel intercepted the group and engaged them during the operation.
As a result, eight militants were killed, ISPR said.
Three More Killed in Washuk
A separate intelligence-based operation took place in Washuk district on September 7. Security forces launched the operation after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.

During the operation, troops located and cleared a militant hideout. An intense exchange of fire followed.
ISPR said security forces killed three militants in the engagement. Troops also recovered 2.9 tonnes of explosives from the area.
According to the military, the explosives were intended for the preparation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Sanitisation Operation Underway
Security forces have launched sanitisation operations in the area, ISPR said. The effort aims to locate and eliminate any other militants who may remain in the vicinity.
The military said its counter-terrorism campaign will continue across the country. It linked the campaign to the government-approved Azm-e-Istehkam initiative.
Military Vows to Continue Counter-Terrorism Operations
ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies will maintain operations against what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
The statement did not provide further details about the identities of those killed. The claims about the militants’ affiliations and sponsorship were made by the military and have not been independently verified in the statement.
