KARACHI: Saadia Javed said Pakistan had shattered India’s “arrogance and pride” during the Battle of Truth (Bunyan-ul-Marsoos), adding that the conflict demonstrated Pakistan’s military strength to the world.

Speaking to Ausaf at the Sindh Assembly, the Sindh government spokesperson said India, which once portrayed itself as a dominant regional power, suffered humiliation during the confrontation.

“India claimed superiority in information technology and many other sectors, but this war exposed everything,” she said.

Saadia Javed stated that while Pakistan was created in 1947, May 9, 2025 symbolised a “new birth” for the country.

She credited Asim Munir and the Pakistan Army for demonstrating the country’s military capability on the global stage.

“Today, no one can look at Pakistan with hostile intent,” she remarked, adding that Pakistan’s next major focus should now be economic development and national progress.

Referring to past conflicts, she said previous wars such as the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and the Kargil War had not fully answered questions about how India could be defeated, but recent events had changed that perception.

Discussing the performance of the Government of Sindh, Saadia Javed said infrastructure development and healthcare improvement remained the provincial administration’s top priorities.

She explained that major investments were being made in roads, public infrastructure and healthcare projects, particularly focusing on maternal and child health services.

According to her, hospitals and medical centres meeting international standards have been established across Karachi and other districts of Sindh.

She also highlighted the government’s efforts in the education sector, saying 18,000 teachers had been recruited on merit to improve educational quality.

Calling the issue of four million out-of-school children alarming, she said the Sindh government was working closely with international organisations to improve educational access across the province.

Saadia Javed further praised the Benazir Income Support Programme, saying the initiative was providing monthly financial support to deserving women and creating positive social change.
