KARACHI: AIG Karachi, Ghulam Nabi Memon, has said that providing a peaceful environment to the industrial community is a top priority. The police department is playing an important role in providing a conducive environment to the business community, and a special strategy is being worked out to make business centers, especially industrial areas, crime-free. The cooperation of the industrial community in this regard is also commendable. He said this while addressing a meeting at the invitation of Faisal Moiz Khan, President North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI).
On this occasion, AIG Karachi also prayed for the forgiveness of the Patron-in-Chief of NKATI, Captain A. Moiz Khan. The meeting was attended by SSP Central Asim Qaimkhani, Ghulam Murtaza Tabassum, VP NKATI Naeem Haider, NKIDMC CEO Sadiq Muhammad, Chairman Board Faraz Mirza, Chief CMC Akhtar Ismail, Syed, S. Usman Ali, Tariq Rashid and members of NKATI.
Ghulam Nabi Memon said that responsibility of the police department is to serve the people and for this purpose an effective strategy has been formulated against crime & criminal elements, the positive results of which will soon be seen. He appreciated the installation of 750 cameras in North Karachi Industrial Area, said that it would provide security to both the industrialists and workers, would enable them to monitor the industrial area 24 hours a day.
In response to a suggestion of Faisal Moiz Khan, he Said that an arbitration resolution committee should be formed to deal with check bounce and other issues mutually so that issues could be settled in the police station by mutual consent of the industrialist community.

He requested to the AIG for a major operation against the encroachments in industrial area, as due to the encroachment, it has become difficult to enter the industrial area. Even foreign buyers are reluctant to come here in this situation
“One-button Command & Control System would be set up soon to solve the problems faced by the industrialists, which would provide immediate support by the automated system at the push of a button”, NKATI president said.
Sadiq Mohammad, CEO NKIDMC, thanked the Sindh government for its cooperation in the development work in the North Karachi Industrial Area, and said that today it has become a model industrial area of Karachi.
He asked the industrialists of North Karachi to play their role in keeping the area clean, and not to throw garbage outside the factory. In this regard, NKIDMC has hired a private company, so the industrialists here can get services to dispose of their waste.
