KARACHI – July 3, 2025: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has confirmed the arrival of the second monsoon spell in Karachi, forecasting light rain and drizzling across the city until Friday.

According to the Met Office, intermittent light rainfall will continue throughout the day in various parts of the city. Another spell of light rain and drizzling is expected between July 8 and 11.

Earlier forecasts indicated rain across southeastern districts of Sindh, including Karachi, as part of this system. The PMD also expects light to moderate showers accompanied by strong winds in areas such as Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Khairpur on July 3 and 4.

The department also warned of isolated heavy downpours in parts of southeastern and lower Sindh.

Looking ahead, the PMD predicts enhanced monsoon activity across Pakistan from July 5, while a westerly weather system is expected to approach the northern regions of the country by July 6.

Rain is also forecast for northeastern and southern Balochistan between July 3–4 and again from July 6 to 8, indicating widespread monsoon influence across multiple provinces.
