The collaboration was formalised at a ceremony held at NBP’s regional office in Karachi, attended by senior representatives from both organisations.
Speaking at the event, Adnan Nasir, Chief Digital Officer at NBP, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering merchants through seamless digital solutions and building a robust QR payment infrastructure aligned with Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda.
Under the agreement, ISTIQEME will provide end-to-end support, including merchant onboarding, account facilitation, QR code deployment, and awareness and training programmes. The company will also assist NBP branches operationally to ensure efficient activation of merchants.
The initiative aims to strengthen financial inclusion and support the government’s vision of a cashless economy, in line with the regulatory framework of the State Bank of Pakistan.
The signing ceremony was attended by ISTIQEME CEO Muhammad Kamran Khan, alongside NBP officials including Mahmood Akhtar Nadeem and other senior executives.
By combining ISTIQEME’s digital expertise with NBP’s extensive nationwide network, the partnership is expected to significantly expand digital payment acceptance, enhance accessibility for merchants, and contribute to the broader digitisation of Pakistan’s economy.
