He said that there will be no compromise on the quality of roads being built and the construction work will be completed by June 2022.

He was addressing members of SITE Association of Industry on the occasion of his visit to inaugurate tree plantation drive in SITE area. MPA Liaquat Askani, Special Assistants to CM Sindh Asif Khan and Ali Ahmed Jan, Deputy Commissioners of District Keamari and District South, Patron-in-Chief Zubair Motiwala, President Abdul Hadi, SVP Riazuddin, VP Abdul Kadir Bilwani and Saleem Parekh were also present on this occasion.

On drawing attention by Zubair Motiwala towards processing of waste water & provision of filtered water to SITE industries, Murtaza Wahab said that the work on the filter water project will be started soon and completed in 18 months’ time. This will ensure 100 MGD water supply to Karachi besides improving water supply to SITE industries.

President SITE Abdul Hadi on the occasion of Tree Plantation drive said that with the cooperation of industrialists, trees will be planted on every road on completion of construction work to make the SITE area green. He highlighted the issue of disposal of solid waste and remarked that the situation is becoming worse due to involvement of two agencies viz. SITE Limited and Sindh Solid Waste Management Board. In response, Barrister Murtaza Wahab assured to call a meeting with the representatives of SITE Association, SITE Limited and Sindh Solid Waste Management Board to discuss & resolve the matter.

President SITE also spoke about 5 combined effluent treatment plants in Karachi and mentioned that land for 3 treatment plants is available including SITE and as such, combined effluent treatment plant in SITE should be set up as soon as possible. He added that these plants are to be funded by both federal and Sindh governments out of which, the federal government has already paid 2 instalments and now it is the turn of the Sindh Government.

Replying to it, Murtaza Wahab said that work on CETP is in progress which will take some more time. We are, however, trying to start the project as soon as possible.
