WASHINGTON : A NASA rover has discovered more of the basic ingredients of life through a unique chemical experiment conducted for the first time on Mars. According to the French news agency, a NASA-led team of scientists clarified that these organic molecules are not definitive evidence of life in the past, as they could either have formed on Mars itself or arrived there via meteorites. However, this discovery is evidence that these important clues related to the history of Mars have been preserved on its surface for more than three billion years. It is also believed that at one time there were large lakes and rivers on the surface of Mars containing liquid water, which is considered a fundamental element for life.
