Russia says lifting sanctions imposed on Moscow is part of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in comments to China’s official news agency published on Russian foreign ministry’s website today.
Sergei Lavrov said we are in favour of continuing the negotiations, although they are difficult.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has insisted since the invasion began on Feb. 24 that Western sanctions on Russia needed to be strengthened and could not be part of negotiations.
