? Introduction
In light of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel and the volatile situation in the region, delegations comprising representatives from Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Sindh, Muttahida Ulema Mahaz Pakistan, and the Milli Yakjehti Council Sindh visited the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran at different times.
? Condemnation and Support
During their meetings with H.E. Vahed Asghari, the Chargé d’affaires of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, the delegations strongly condemned the American and Israeli attacks on Iran and expressed their unwavering solidarity with the government and people of Iran. Scholars, intellectuals, and notable figures from various schools of thought commended Iran’s firm and decisive response to Israeli aggression, stating that Iran’s actions had brought pride and dignity to the entire Islamic world.
? Statements by Religious and Political Leaders
Maulana Mehraj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, in a courageous statement, declared that the people of Pakistan stand with Iran and strongly condemn the recent attacks by the Zionist regime. He emphasized that Iran did not start this war, and the world witnessed how the Iranian people took to the streets chanting, “We are with our Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.” He affirmed, “Our leader is also Ayatollah Khamenei, and Iran is not alone.”
Mohammad Hussain Mehnati, while recalling Iran’s unwavering support for Pakistan during its war with India, stated, “Supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran today is our religious, moral, and historical duty. Iran is the representative of the oppressed of the world and we must stand with it.”
Asadullah Bhutto, in his remarks, stated, “Silence in the face of oppression is a betrayal of the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). We support Iran, the Islamic Revolution, and its Supreme Leader not out of political motives, but from deep faith and religious commitment.”
Maulana Hasan Zafar Naqvi powerfully declared, “Iran is not only victorious — it was created to achieve victory.” He praised the Islamic Republic for standing firmly on the axis of truth with unmatched patience and resilience. “This dignity is a model for the entire Islamic world,” he noted, adding that this is not merely Iran’s battle — it is Islam’s battle. He further emphasized that Sunni scholars including those from Deoband and Ahl-e-Hadith traditions, such as Maulana Taqi Usmani, Maulana Tariq Masood, and leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, have stood by Iran from the very beginning and acknowledged that the Islamic Republic is on the path of truth.
Maulana Muhammad Amin Ansari expressed unwavering support for the Islamic Republic of Iran, declaring, “This is the battle of the entire Muslim Ummah.” He added that had there not been a ceasefire declared, religious scholars were prepared to issue fatwas of jihad to send Muslims to the frontlines in Iran’s defense. He praised the decisive leadership of the Supreme Leader and said that Iran is the only Islamic country that, since the victory of the Revolution, has stood firmly and fearlessly against Zionism.
Asad Iqbal Zaidi, referring to the statement of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said, “When Israel launched its attack, the Leader of the Revolution stated: ‘The enemy may start the war, but we will end it.’” He stressed that the United States and Israel are the Great Satans and may ignite another war at any moment, but “we place full trust in the decisions of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.”
? Remarks by H.E. Vahed Asghari
H.E. Asghari expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people and Government of Pakistan, as well as to religious scholars, intellectuals, and respected members of society, for their support during this critical time. He stated, “The Iranian nation is peace-loving and conciliatory, and Iran’s nuclear program is entirely peaceful and aimed at positive development.”
He added, “Israel is an artificial and illegitimate state that has, since its inception, attempted to preserve its existence by sowing discord among Islamic nations. Imam Khomeini (RA) consistently emphasized the importance of Muslim unity and cautioned against allowing Western powers to exploit the wealth and resources of the Islamic world.”
He further remarked that had all Islamic countries demonstrated unity, then a so-called and utterly insignificant fake state like Israel would never have dared, over the past one and a half years, to martyr more than fifty thousand Muslim men, women, and innocent children in Gaza.
