Toronto: Consul General of Pakistan in Toronto Abdul Hameed received the delegation of LadiesFund and hoped that successful Pakistan origin women professionals in Canada would help their counterparts in Pakistan by sharing best practices, experiences and strategies for achieving targets in their respective fields.

Spotted at the event were politician Sarah Bokhari, Art Curator Neshmia Ahmed, Safety Expert Asma Kazmi, Happiness Guru Shaista Ali, Realtor Shafaq Hussain, PhD Dr. Sarah Alam, Beauty Brand Manufacturer Samina Ali, Mortgage Specialist Reema Hasnain, EY’s Rukhsana Hossein, Healonline’s Kanwal Salman, and LADIESFUND President Tara Uzra Dawood.

About:

Mr. Abdul Hameed has recently served as Minister (Political) in Pakistan High Commission, New Delhi. Earlier, he worked in the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, New York for five years. During this period, he also represented his country in the Security Council during Pakistan’s tenure as a non-permanent member of the Council (2012-13). He attended several sessions of the General Assembly, Security Council, the Non-Aligned Movement and specialized Committees of the Security Council. Previously he worked in Pakistan Embassy, Moscow.

A graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, he worked in various capacities during the last 23 years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad. He served in the Ministry as Director (UN), Director (Human Rights & Humanitarian Affairs), Director (China, Japan and Koreas), Deputy Director (Foreign Secretary Office), and Deputy Director (Canada and Latin America).

He was also Research Associate in the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy (ISD), Georgetown University, Washington for one academic year. He joined the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto as Consul General on 05 January 2020.
