The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government has announced plans to organize mass wedding ceremonies for deserving girls under its Dowry Fund initiative.
Each bride will receive a cash grant of Rs. 200,000, aiming to support over 4,000 underprivileged women and ease the financial strain of marriage.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Social Welfare Department on Monday, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. The meeting focused on welfare measures for underserved segments of society, including the effective use of Zakat and dowry funds.
The weddings will initially be held at the divisional level, with plans to expand to district-level events. The government will cover the full expenses of the wedding ceremonies and ensure transparent distribution of benefits to deserving individuals.
The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite preparations for the initiative and maintain strict oversight to guarantee fairness. This program aims to provide meaningful assistance to marginalized communities and foster social welfare across the province.
