KATI announce A 7-member committee is announced to help the victims in Balochistan

President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Salman Aslam has announced a 7-member committee to help the victims of rain and flood in Balochistan under his supervision.  Other members of the committee include Vice President KATI Farrukh Ali Qandhari, Junaid Naqi, Hamud-ur-Rahman, Umar Saeed, Ahsan Farooqui and Mir Jan. He appealed to the KATI members to generously participate in helping the victims and providing ration. Salman Aslam said that the relief materials and other necessary items will distribute the donations collected by the members of KATI under his leadership will taken clothes, medicines, rations, tents and food for the flood victims on Saturday, August 6, in 4 villages of Balochistan.  The most disaster-affected districts including Sub-tehsil Aranji, Sub-tehsil Oranchi, Sub-tehsil Grisha and UC Badri.

SM Muneer said that the business community of the entire country especially the Korangi Association stand with the people of Balochistan in this hour of trouble and will take all possible steps to provide relief to the people.

During meeting Salman Aslam expressed views on the occasion of a meeting with the delegation headed by Commissioner Afghan Refugees Repatriation Cell Sindh Hamud-ur-Rehman Mengal. On this occasion, KATI Vice President Syed Farrukh Qandhari, Junaid Naqi, Syed Wajid Hussain and others were also present. Salman Aslam said that dozens of bridges were destroyed due to floods and rains in the province and dozens of different highways covering 670 kilometers have been severely affected while crops have been damaged on 2 lakh acres. He said that the number of people who died due to floods in Balochistan has reached 166 while the victims are still waiting for government assistance. President KATI said that the floodwaters receded in Balochistan but left destruction behind which has paralyzed the life system, more than 15 thousand houses have been destroyed, and there is a severe shortage of food items and large-scale relief operations must be started with immediate effect. Failure to do so has compounded the hardships of the victims, with many connecting roads still not being restored.

Salman Aslam said that the 7-member relief committee will make efforts for the relief operations in Balochistan and will take steps to deliver aid to the victims, while also cooperating in the relief operation on behalf of the government and Pakistan Army. He said that the houses and communication bridges in the cities and areas of Balochistan are still affected, due to damaged roads, there are serious difficulties in providing relief items to the victims. The flood victims are forced to live in tents waiting for government assistance in the midst of poverty in the suburbs.

President KATI said that it is the duty of the government to make a transparent estimate of the losses of the rain and flood victims and give compensation to the families of the deceased, and ensured the supply of cash and daily items to the families of the people lost their live.
